honoring a dream that came true!

It was all that we wanted it to be and so much more!  The dedication of the sculpture went off so very well thanks to sooooo many people.  What a gift to our beautiful community.  I couldn't be more pleased that Jerrie Mock's statue is in the Works courtyard to inspire and encourage all of us, all of our children to follow their dreams.  Jerrie Mock dreamed of flying around the world to have exciting adventures and she did it.

Today's dedication was wonderful.  The speakers all touched us with beautiful remarks- the two young women pilots touched many of us.  The recognition and proclamations Jerrie received were well deserved and will help us to retell her story.  The Works captures history and uses it to inspire the future- that is our mission and today was all about executing our mission. Jerrie' lived a life with STEM skills so it all really does connect so very well to The Works!! We can't harness those lessons from the past without donors like Jerrie's classmate, sister and the artist with their passion, talent and commitment- their dreams are honored today too.

Thank you Jerrie Mock for your dream, strength and courage.  Thank you to all those involved to bring this gorgeous sculpture to our community. Life on Newark-Granville Road is grateful for the inspiration.
